Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR Course
This course is offered over two days in-class (13-14 hours) or can be done through Blended Learning (approx 8 hours online followed by 5.5-7.5 hours in-class) offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Certification is valid for 3 years.
The course includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines from the Canadian Red Cross and meets federal and a variety of provincial regulations for Standard First Aid and CPR. Participants will also learn how (and be certified) to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
This course is recognized by the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) and meets Ontario Health & Safety (OHS) regulations for Basic First Aid. This course is taught by a certified Red Cross Instructor and successful participants receive proof of certification electronically that can be printed by participant as required.
Who should take this course?
There are no prerequisites to take this course and it is suitable for people needing it for the workplace (WSIB and OHS), school, volunteer work or personal knowledge. Recommended minimum age to take the course is 14.

Completion Requirements
100% attendance is mandatory, demonstrate proficiency of skills and a minimum 75% on written exam.
